BANKS and other shops have closed in Labasa Town following the tropical depression alert.
Heavy rain that started at about 3am have eased and low-lying areas have been spared from possible flooding so far.
However, light showers continue to affect Taveuni, Savusavu, Nabouwalu and Labasa areas.
Business in the market area continues with vendors.
