The body of 37-year-old taxidriver Donal Sarwan Prasad was found in Qalitu, Lautoka, yesterday.
Family members said Mr Prasad was found with visible wounds on his body.
His distraught brother, Deepak Lal, said Mr Prasad’s hands and legs were allegedly bound and dumped in a field five minutes from the Kings Highway.
Divisional Police Commander West SSP Iakobo Vaisewa confirmed receiving a report on the alleged discovery.
“We do not want to speculate at this stage as the investigations are still at its early stages,” said SSP Vaisewa.
Yesterday, forensic investigators cordoned off the area where Mr Prasad’s body was found by a villager on horseback. His body was later retrieved by investigators.
