Tailevu North College: Teamwork makes dream work

Winning the Tailevu Zone for Ratu Kadavulevu School and Tailevu North College was a simple walk in the park as they swiftly scooped the boys and girls division titles at the zone meet at the ANZ Stadium.

Tailevu North College was indomitable in the girl’s division with 30 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 13 bronze medals while the Tailevu Zone and defending champs of the Coca-Cola Games finals Ratu Kadavulevu School dominated the meet with 30 gold medals, 20 silver medals and 19 bronze medals to take home the boy’s division title.

Second in the boy’s division was Queen Victoria School who secured most of its medals during the second day of competition.

The boys from Matavatucou finished with with 18 gold medals, 28 silver medals and 19 bronze medals.

In third place in the boys division was Tailevu North College with 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Second in the girl’s division was Wainibuka Secondary School with 8 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze medals, followed by St Vincent College in third place with 6 gold, 11 silver medals and 12 bronze medals.

Chief Guest at the closing event, former director for the Ministry of Education, Manoa Senikarawa said the athletes showcased exceptional athletic abilities both on the tracks and field events.

He said the athletes dreamed big dreams when they made their way to the zone and that was to win medals for their school during the two days of competition.

“Life is about taking on challenges,” he said. He told the athletes to rise up and to re-evaluate what they have done during the sports meet and do better in the future.
