Suva Swifts IGA are the new champions of the 2024 Finance Hub Super League Title after they beat Lautoka Stars 69-35 at the FNU Gymnasium in Nasinu on Saturday.
The side exhibited a strong display of vigour and force, exerting all their might on their Western opponents who were unable to match the level of play given by the Swifts team.
The game’s progression from start to finish showed both sides putting in their best efforts, however as the clock wound down to the final quarter, it was apparent that victory would fall in favour of the winning side.
Meanwhile, in other matches, the Baby Pearls Kikau team shone a glistening defeat over their opponents, the Nadroga Stallions with 61-28 win.
The Kikau side maintained their lead from the first quarter and thumped the Stallions at the end of the match with 33 point difference, which now ranks them at fifth place.
In other matches, the Tailevu Doves flew defiantly over the Nadi Netball team with a 30-20 win that put them in seventh place following the win.
When interviewed after the match, Doves president Seini Soroacagi said the win would be an incentive for the side to heighten their level of preparation for next year’s competition.
Meanwhile, while the women’s teams battled for greatness, the national men’s netball teams were on display as well, in a curtain raiser prior to the final between the Suva Swifts IGA and Lautoka Stars teams.
