“Before my journey began with the Sheraton community, I took active steps to complete my degree in Human Resource Management from the Fiji National University.”

She later joined Air Terminal Services. “With determination, encouragement from my mum and support from my fellow associates, I spent the early part of my career understanding the tricks and trade of professional administrative journey.

“As time passed and seeing hotels reopening, I applied, was interviewed and successfully started as the youngest intern in the human resource department –at “The Beating Heart of Fiji” – The Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort.

Ms Chand said her role allowed her to work with organisation leaders, identify talent needs and plan recruitments.

“Being an intern 12 months ago to mentoring interns today gives me immense satisfaction.

“Among my many learnings is, having a coach and mentor and the right attitude, takes one far in what they would want to achieve.
