AS the BiC Fiji FACT tournament nears, teams are gearing up as they compete for the title and glory of the competition.
Suva football club is among the eight districts that will be competing at this year’s tournament.
In an interview with TimesSports, head coach of the Suva FC Mohammed Zahid Erfhan revealed of the challenges the team has faced in the past weeks of preparation.
With limited resources and financial restraints, it has affected the team’s training sessions in preparation for the competition.
“The biggest challenge we have been facing throughout the year is the unavailability of the grounds,” Erfhan said.
“Sometimes we don’t have grounds for training and that’s the biggest setback for us going into this tournament.”
“We have been missing a lot and whatever days we get the grounds, we try and cover up on what we have missed,” he said.
Despite setbacks, it has not held the team back in the buildup to this competition, however it has been a source of motivation for them.
Just like the other participating teams, Suva FC set’s goal in winning the competition
“For all the team’s coming into the tournament, they come to win,” he said.
“The players are really working hard, giving everything they got, and they are also in a place where they want to win.”
The Suva coach says four youth players are part of the team and he is looking forward to seeing them perform at the tournament.
“We have four youth players, we are working with them and looking forward to seeing them perform at the tournament.”
Entering the tournament, the coach has shared the team will be working on the finishing side and also on the defensive line.
With only three days till game day, Erfhan has urged supporters to continue their support towards the team.
