Suva rugby set for grand finals

THE FMF Suva Rugby Union competition will culminate this weekend with the Koroturaga and Escott shield finals setting the stage for two highly anticipated clashes.

The feature matches will see defending powerhouse Police blue take on TISA Insurance Covenant brothers in the Escott shield final.

Police blue will be making its fifth consecutive appearance in the final, underlining the club’s performance in recent season.

Standing in its way is a determined Covenant Brothers side, which has created history by reaching the Escott shield final for the first time.

Covenant brothers has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign, earning its place in the decider match.

Meanwhile, the Koroturaga finals will feature FA & Company Eastern saints against CK Bargain RKS old boys 2.

Both teams have produced consistent performances throughout the season and will be aiming to finish their campaign on a high by lifting the Koroturaga title.

With the season coming to an end, spectators can expect an exciting day of rugby with the teams competing for the Escott shield and Koroturaga title.

The games will be officiated at the HFC Bank stadium in Suva with the Koroturaga finals at 3.45pm and the Escott shield at 5.30pm.
