Suva private hospital under new ownership

Update: 1:11PM SUVA Private Hospital will be known from tomorrow as MIOT Pacific Hospital after it came under the ownership of Oceania Hospitals Pte Limited.

Oceania Hospitals Pte Limited is 30 per cent owned by MIOT International while BSP Life continue to own 70 per cent effective January 1, 2017. 

Making the announcement today, BSP Life managing director Malakai Naiyaga said the new investment was valued at $14million, which includes the upgrade of equipment, construction and services. 

“The Fijian Government has continued to encourage investment in the healthcare sector and we are pleased that we could that we could take the lead in this initiative,” he said. 

Specialised medicals services are expected out of this new venture with more changes to develop over a span of six months.  

It was also made clear that no loss of existing employment at SPH will eventuate out of the partnership. 

The official launch will be held on January 18.
