STUDENTS of Suva Primary School were given the opportunity to showcase their creative art and wear during the Test and Enterprising Program held at the school today.
Speaking as chief guest at the event, Fiji National University’s Associate Dean, College of Engineering, Science and Technology, Salabogi Mavua told the students t it was important to develop all types of skills while applying for a job.
“You need all the skills for the entire job that you do, don’t just focus on one skill for a particular job,” he said.
Headteacher Brij Singh said the occasion was initiated by the Ministry of Education and was a first for the school.
“Today, the children have showcased their skills on how to do screen printing, make jewellery, use coconut leaves for artwork, cake decorating, flower arrangements and even art and craft,” he said.
He said the event was vital as it had created a platform for the students to slowly develop skills needed in the future.
Mr Singh said the event would now be organized annually for the benefit of the students.
