A man convicted of striking his father on the head with a cane knife has had his 16-month sentence suspended for three years.
Rakshay Chand, 23, had pleaded guilty to a count of an act with intent to cause grievous harm. Meanwhile, he still faces an active count of criminal intimidation for allegedly threatening to stab his mother.
Justice Usaia Ratuviliwill consider Chand’s bail application on June 8.
