FIJIANS will always hold a special place in the hearts of all Australians says Australia’s High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes.

Delivering an emotional message at Sukuna Park in Suva today at the fundraiser for victims of the Australian bushfires during the Fiji 4 Australia Fire Concert, Mr Feakes said Australians could not have survived the disaster alone.

“It takes communities, families friends and faith to survive and in Australia the community response has been remarkable” said Mr Feakes.

“Fijians living in Australia have been in the thick of actions.

“The response that we have received since the bushfires started has been overwhelming and I am lost for words.

“It is comforting it is to feel this support.”

By 3pm this afternoon the concert had managed to raise over $4000.
