POLICE Blue pivot Teri Tamani is gunning to retain a spot in the national 7s side.

The nippy playmaker said he aimed to give his best during the third leg of the Super 7s Series, which begins today at Ratu Ganilau Park in Savusavu.

“I’ve had some niggling injuries but I’ve recovered and I planned to show what I am capable of in front of coach Gareth Baber,” he said.

Tamani said he faced stiff competition for the playmaker and halfback roles from other talented players but he was determined to prove his worth.

“I will just focus on myself and what I can do on the field with my teammates.”

Tamani’s Police side has conquered the first two legs of the series in Sigatoka and Nadi respectively and he said they aimed to maintain their winning track.

“We’ve been working hard on our defence because we want to keep our winning momentum heading into this weekend’s tournament.

Police Blue will face North 1 in its opening match at 11:20am today.
