Strong wind and coastal inundation warnings for parts of Fiji

A strong wind warning is in force for the coastal land areas of the Eastern and Southern parts of Viti Levu.

This includes an area from Coral Coast, Navua, Suva, Korovou and Rakiraki.

The warning is also for Southern Bua and Cakaudrove province, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

Fiji Meteorological Service states a trough of low pressure is expected to affect the group from Wednesday.

Coral Coast, Navua, Suva, Korovou and Rakiraki, Southern Bua and Cakaudrove province, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti groups can expect wind speeds up to 45km/hr

A coastal inundation warning remains in force for the coastal areas of Southern Viti Levu (Natadola – Vatukarasa – Coral Coast – Navua –

Suva), Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Vatulele, Beqa, Lomaiviti, Moala and Southern Lau groups.
