Strike action looms at Aspen Medical

Listen to this article:

Construction Energy and Timber Workers Union of Fiji members employed by Aspen Medical have overwhelmingly voted to take strike action, the union secretary general John Paul has announced.

He said this action is over Aspen’s failure to settle Log of Claims.

“Members are demanding pay increase and improvement in their working conditions,” he said.

“Union wrote to Aspen some months ago raising concern over non-payment of the said entitlements however, Aspen did not respond till date.”

Mr Paul added members are frustrated and ready to take strike action.

“The Union is waiting to hear from the Ministry of Employment Productivity and Workplace Relations for their response on the secret ballot report.”
