Stinson Parade Bridge ready for construction

Update: 5:19PM CONSTRUCTION work on the new Stinson Parade Bridge in Suva is scheduled to commence in two week’s time.

In a media release today, the Fiji Roads Authority expressed its delight in the progress update.

The Authority revealed that FRA Contractor to the project, China Railway 14 Group will carry out construction work on the new Stinson Parade Bridge and work will involve the use of heavy machinery and trucks.

As a result, approaches on both ends of the bridge will be closed off for public safety.

The FRA further stated that a closed walkway will be erected for pedestrians to use for foot traffic on the south side (Fiji Ports entrance).

“The public are advised to stay away from the construction area as assembly of the bridge parts like steel rods, plates and steel bars will take place on land at the existing Western Mini Bus parking area,” the FRA advised.

It added that the Suva City Council has allocated a new operating space for the Mini Bus Operators to operate from.
