This is the gist of Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau’s words as they prepare to face the world’s best in the Valladolid 7s in Spain from tonight.
Fiji ventures into this leg of the Championship format of the HSBC SVNS after a fifth-place finish in Hong Kong last month.
And finishing stronger in Spain this weekend will be of the essence as they need to avoid slipping into the bottom portion of the table and eventually, relegation.
“We’re definitely still in the fight in the championship and that’s something we want to perform really well in especially after falling short in Hong Kong,” Kolinisau affirmed yesterday.
“Now, this week is another championship, and we want to finish off strong and make sure we show that we’re learning from our past tournaments and try and finish off on top this week.”
Fiji finds itself in the company of Spain, France and the United States in Pool C and Kolinisau explained how their contest against Spain would be elevated by their home advantage.
Fiji’s first match tonight is against France at 11.40pm.
