Nadi will soon be home to the South Pacific’s first-ever biggest private multi-speciality hospital.

The Pacific Specialist Healthcare Hospital is located on 1 Legalega Rd, right opposite Tokatoka Resort and a one-minute drive from the Nadi International Airport. It’s the brainchild of chemist and investor Parvish Kumar.

The multi-million dollar investment boasts state-of-the-art theatres for neuro and spine surgery, urology, cardiac surgery, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, angiogram and stenting, private birthing, general outpatient and inpatient surgeries, chemotherapy, pharmacy, pathology, CT and full radiology services, physiotherapy and rehabilitation and Lamaze classes.

Pacific Specialist Healthcare Hospital has a branch in Suva as well and is currently in planning stages for a third multi-storey organ transplant and advanced surgical hospital in Toorak, Suva as revealed by the director, Mr Kumar.

“I opened the first hospital on Foster St in Walu Bay in 2016 and saw the need for better attention on specialist health care for Fijians and this prompted me to invest in something bigger, the idea is to promote regular medical checks and drive towards increasing life expectancy of the public,” Mr Kumar said.

“Choosing this Nadi location right beside the Nadi International Airport comes with its reason to focus too on the Pacific region because that was a core vision of our business, Pacific Specialist Healthcare Hospital is for Fiji and the Pacific as our name suggests,” said Mr Kumar.

“Patients from the region can just travel in a one to two hours flight to us if they need extra medical attention and will be picked up and head straight to the hospital soon after arriving at the airport rather than the gruelling several hours of travel with multiple transits to hospitals on other continents.

“Our hospital forges a spirit of partnership between Fiji and Pacific Island Countries in the medical scene.”

The hospital also is supported by top local health specialists from Fiji and the region who are all Australian and New Zealand trained and are the best in their field, said Mr Kumar.

“We have all great surgeons onboard to whom we are thankful for providing their services at Pacific Specialist Healthcare Hospital.

“Several Pacific health ministers and CEOs of health have already visited this place and we are happy to be able to provide the medical attention people need.

“We will employ close to 200 staff from clinical to administration staff and a lot are already onboard.”

The five-storey facility located just beside the Queens Highway is expected to open soon after the Health Ministry gives the approval.
