Update: 5:19PM RESOURCE owners for forests in the Northern division will now be aware of logs taken from their forest to the mill.
This is
after the Ministry of Forests began charging fines on companies that fail
to stamp their logs before taking them to the mill.
Minister
for Forests Osea Naiqamu said all companies have so far complied with the
stampage policy.
“This is
nothing new as we have done this in the past and we are just reviving the
policy so resource owners could be aware of the cubic of log taken from their
forest to the mill,” he said.
