The stage is set for an exciting final at the 2024 Cecil’s National Regional Club Championship (NCC) after a thrilling day of football action at Fiji FA in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
Buiduna FC and Northpole FC have emerged as the top teams in their groups and will now face off tomorrow for the prestigious title.
Buiduna FC from Tailevu Naitasiri made history by qualifying for their first-ever NCC final.
They secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Downtown FC of Nadroga in their final Group A match.
After falling behind early, Mohammed Rasasa became the hero, scoring the equaliser to ensure Buiduna topped the group.
In the other Group A match, Rivals FC ended their campaign with a commanding 5-1 win over Nakasi Police FC.
However, their efforts weren’t enough, as Buiduna’s draw confirmed their place in the final.
In Group B, Northpole FC from Labasa delivered another powerful performance, defeating Blues FC 8-0 to finish the group stage with three straight wins.
Their perfect record underlines their dominance and makes them the team to beat in the final.
Flying Arrows FC also made a strong statement with a 5-0 win over Friends United FC in their last match.
However, their hopes of reaching the final were dashed when Northpole secured the top spot.
All eyes are now on today’s final, where Buiduna FC will take on Northpole FC in a battle for glory.
