Defence Minister Pio Tikoduadua pulled no punches, declaring no one’s getting dragged off by soldiers anymore.
At the National Federation Party Rakiraki district AGM on Saturday, he boldly declared “no soldiers are coming to take you to camp!”
He acknowledged criticism and fake news but insisted that open debate – even uncomfortable ones – is part of a healthy democracy.
“There are people that take advantage of the situation and then enjoy politicking and all they do is to rubbish people. There are politicians and political parties that thrive on that.”
