A Ba man is admitted in critical condition at the Lautoka Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after he was allegedly stabbed several times by an intruder last weekend.
And police are treating it as an attempted murder case.
The man is believed to have been sleeping in his house when the intruder entered his room and allegedly attacked him.
He was rushed to the Lautoka Hospital where he was admitted for multiple stab wounds.
Divisional police commander West Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile, thieves took advantage of Tropical Cyclone Mal by allegedly breaking into a temple in Nadi and stole money kept in a security box.
The intruders are believed to have moved the box to a riverbank at the back of the temple where they broke the safe and stole the money.
SSP Vaisewa confirmed the incident occurred during TC Mal.
He said no arrest had been made as investigations continue.
