St John New Zealand is sending four all-terrain ambulances to Fiji.

They will be loaded into containers and shipped out by the end of the week.

The hope is this addition to St John Fiji’s fleet, which currently comprises 20 ambulances, will aid their ability to get to more patients in remote areas, said NZ St Johns national operation’s manager James Stewart.

“We’re sure that these models will be more suited to the more rugged and isolated environment of Fiji.

“Particularly as they have a lower technology requirement and servicing requirement, meaning that Fiji is going to be able to use them for a longer duration.”
