St George Illawarra NRL centre Tim Lafai was taken to hospital following a Good Friday dispute and later served with an apprehended domestic violence order.

Lafai allegedly injured his hand in the incident and was found lying in the backyard by police when they arrived at his house south of Wollongong.

Police allege Lafai punched several walls in his family home following an argument but the incident does not relate to any physical assault of his wife or children.

“At about 2pm on Friday April 10 officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were called to a house in Warrawong following a concern for welfare report,” a NSW Police spokeswoman said.

A 28-year-old man was located lying in the backyard of the home. He was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment and hand injuries.
