THE Jet Runners Club of Nadi will host mountain running at Burenitu Village in Nabukelevu in the interior of Namosi on November 1. Entry is free. Anyone interested in long-distance running or mountain running is welcome to participate. Contact Abhinesh on 9402188.

THE 83rd consecutive Shreedhar Motors-Ford-sponsored Lautoka Open Championship will be staged on October 25 over 27 holes. Entries are limited to first eighty golfers. Limited golf cards available. Magic Land
THE Magic Land Nadi netball team will be conducting three training sessions a week Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and training at the Prince Charles Park from 4.30pm to 6pm. All reps are requested to be present on time.
Salad Bowl Tournament
THE MTTS Salad Bowl Netball Tournament will be held on December 6 at Lawaqa. Registration fee is $80 per team for Open Women. Winner gets $500, runner-up gets $200 and losing semi-finalist get $100 each with best player award, best dressed team award and best coach. Open men $50 per team. Winner gets $200 and runner-up gets $100. Best Player and best dressed team award. Gate fee $1 per player and $3 for fans. FUNA Umpires will be officiating with national co-ordinator Mr Qoro. Salad Bowl
PLAYERS are to train daily for Mixed and Open Men’s team. Interested women wishing to join Salad Bowl Netball Club for 2015 are to attend training at Lawaqa Park on Monday-Thursday from 4.30pm-6pm. Tall defenders and shooters are welcome to join SBNC 2015. Salad Bowl Awards Night and break up will be held on December 13 at Grayelen Lodge with the Barrel Night and Cocktail party for $20 per person from 8pm-10pm. Only First 50 VIP tickets will be sold. Nadroga Men and Mixed Business House
AN invitation to all business houses in Coral Coast to join the Nadroga Men’s and Mixed Netball Business House weekly competition in mixed netball knockout on January 31 at Lawaqa Park from 10am. Registration $150 per team (Only business house members employee as we will check on payroll on all registration forms). Award’s Night for NMMNA and Business house will be held at True Blue Hotel from 6pm-11pm. ADM $3 per person. THE Bureiwai Sevens tournament will be held at the Bureiwai District School ground on the October 30 and 31. Registration fee is $300 and the winner will walk away with $4000, runner-up $1500, plate winner gets $1000, plate runner-up gets $400, Bowl winner $300 and Bowl runner-up win $250. Coastal Great 8 7s
THE Coastal Great 8 7s is a qualifying tournament for the 2014 Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens. All team managers interested in registering their teams to play in the 2014 Coastal Great Eight are requested to register as soon as possible via e-mail sevenspassion@gmail.com or by calling 929 7337. The tournament will be held on October 31 and November 1. Entry Fee is $500 per team and this is the only way you can win your way into the 2014 Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast Sevens.

Vunimoli Development 7s
THE Vunimoli Development 7s tournament will be held at the Burebasaga District School ground on December 5 and 6. Registration fee is $170. First 24 teams with full payment will be accommodated. Cup winner gets $1500, runner-up gets $600, losing cup semi-finalists get $250 each. Cash prizes also for Plate and Bowl finalists. Competition also for U20. Registration fee is $100. First 16 teams will be accepted with full payment.

Women in Sport: Walk & Talk
Promoting Breast Cancer Awareness through Sports
FASANOC’s Women in Sport Commission sponsored by the IOC Sport for all Program, and other sponsors aim to raise greater awareness on breast cancer as well as women in sport through a “Walk & Talk” event on Saturday, October25, from Albert Park. Registration will commence from 6am followed by the walk at 6.30am, along the Queen Elizabeth Drive and back. Early birds on the day will receive giveaway hand towel, and a bottle of water. Participants are requested to wear Pink in support of PINKTOBER Breast Cancer Awareness month. Bring your families, work colleagues, children, and neighbours to support this worthy cause. A zumba program is planned prior to and after the walk, followed by light refreshments.
