Spartan race is about personal challenges an overcoming obstacles.

This was highlighted by Robert Camilleri, managing director Spartan Race Australia/New Zealand and Fiji during the event’s official media launch in Nadi yesterday.

“As you know everyone has obstacles in life and Spartan is type of challenge that is very individual but you can also do as a team,” he said.

Camilleri said the race was for everyone.

“Tonight, we got the trial run which is a real special one because that is normally done during the day but this is a night run and that will be at the Sabeto Race Course, that is the launch of the series over the weekend.

“Tomorrow (Friday) at 6am we got our endurance event, which is a four-hour hurricane heat event and whuch would be followed by the kids races.

“On Saturday, we would start our championship series and to finish it off on Sunday.”

He said they are expecting mass participation.

“Really exciting because last year it was all about what is Spartan and know everyone understands what we are doing with the event, so there is a lot a lot of excitement in turning up and participating.”

Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill said last year’s event was exceptionally well run and they were hoping to match it this year if not better.
