I can’t understand why some parliamentarians behave so unprofessionally.
The language they use is deplorable. They don’t have any respect for each other.
I believe each time the Fiji Parliament sits it is very scenic. I believe they are worse than children fighting over their toys.
My suggestion is please respect the person speaking. If you have a point you can always interject or raise a point of order.
Religious connection
Since we are approaching the general election, we can also see campaign gaining its momentum. At times we even see religious gatherings get mixed up with political discussions. I believe a good example is the celebration of Shri Krishna Janmashtami at Koronivia in August this year.
According to my understanding this was a pure religious affair and should have confined to the teachings of Lord Krishna, followed by kirtans or bhajans.
To my surprise political issues started coming in, including the issuing of fishing licence etc.
I believe this happened because of the presence of few ministers and politicians in this religious assembly.
Even during this year’s Ganesh Utsav, we have seen politicians being garlanded.
Does it mean we are giving more recognition to these politicians than our “Ganeshji”? What surprises me more is the absence of these politicians, no matter what party they belong to, in the previous years.
What must be the motive of this year’s attendance.
Is it the general election? I humbly request our general secretary of Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha, Vijendra Lal to keep an eye on such movements.
I believe it can easily divide our religious unity.
