Fiji’s number one snooker player Sahil Prasad has won the South Seas Club Trustees Cup back-to-back after defeating Vikrant Sharma in the final by 3-1 over the weekend at the South Seas Club in Lautoka.

Prasad beat Esala Talebula in a closely contested semi-final clash by 3-2. He defeated Nitesh Chand by 3-0 in the quarter-finals.

Club secretary Raymond Reddy said the tournament was a great success.

“We had one of the biggest prize money for this tournament which ended with a social and awards night.

“Both Prasad and Sharma played an attacking game in the final,” said Reddy.

Prasad after his win on Saturday said it has been a very good year for him.

“I had been very consistent this year and ending the year on a high note, defending my title was the cherry on the cake.

“My target is go and compete in the 2024 Asia Pacific Snooker Championship in New Zealand in March.”

Prasad walked away with $1000 as his prize money for winning the final.
