ST Joseph the Worker Primary School is on track in their campaign after winning their pool games during the Kids Friendship Festival at Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.

Captain Kelemete Ligairi was happy with his boy’s performance but said there were still room for improvement before their big games today.

“We had a lot of individual play where the players did not follow the game plan. We all know everyone wanted to score but we have to play as the team that is what I always remind the players,” Ligairi said.

The 12-year-old Barotu Ra lad said since this was their first time in the Tailevu schools rugby competition they found it very challenging playing schools such as Cautata.

“Teams like Cautata, Naitasiri and Nausori primary schools are tough teams to play against and our first game against Cautata we nearly lost that game but hats off to the players for defending our territory.”

SJWS defeated Nausori District school 21-7 and Rara 40-7.
