New WBF cruiserweight champion Sebastian Singh has called out BCF cruiserweight title holder Alivereti Kauyaca.
Singh defeated Savenaca Naliva on unanimous points decision in the main bout of the Bluewater Boxing Promotion on Saturday night at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
The 30-year-old did not waste any time after his victory as he laid the challenge against New Zealand-based Kauyaca.
“Kauyaca, there cannot be two cruiserweight champions in the country, what’s your excuse now?
While his team, headed by Joseph Kwadjo, will decide what’s next for him, Singh said he cannot wait to step into the ring against the hard-hitting Ba man.
“I’m looking forward to Kauyaca now coming out of his shell, hopefully he grows a pair and I’ll be more than happy to fight him any day of the week,” Singh taunted.
The ‘Sniper’ looked in good form as he came back from a shaky round three bout to hand Naliva the fight of his life until the last second of the 10th round.
Singh described the fight as a decisive moment for him especially as he remembered his dad and former trainer Gyan Singh who contributed heavily to his development as a boxer.
