In a statement, the Fiji Navy underscored the operational importance of the unit in maintaining national security at sea.

“The Small Boats Squadron has continued its operations within our territorial waters, aiming to detect, deter, and disrupt maritime security threats,” the Navy stated.

The Navy also confirmed plans to strengthen and expand the squadron in the coming months, with additional vessels and personnel expected to enhance its operational capability.

“With plans to strengthen and expand the Small Boats Squadron over the next few months through additional vessels and personnel, it is crucial that our team consistently conducts these missions.”

According to the Navy, these ongoing deployments are critical not only for enforcement but also for building capability.
