Suva port is set for another busy month, with Fiji Ports Terminal Ltd expecting a steady flow of commercial, research and specialist vessels in July.

A total of 33 vessels is scheduled to arrive at the port during the month, comprising container ships, research vessels, tankers, a navy vessel and two vehicle carrier.

Container shipping will dominate the schedule, accounting for 23 of the planned arrivals and underscoring the port’s role as Fiji’s primary gateway for international cargo.

The month began with the arrival of a French Navy ship on July 1, followed by the research vessel Yuan Wang 5 on July 2.

Another research vessel, Ocean Titan, is expected to arrive on July 8, while Yuan Wang 3 is scheduled to call on July 27.

Fuel shipments will also feature during the month.

The tanker Altmann is expected on July 9, followed by Maersk Crete on July 17 and tanker Esteem Discovery on July 18.

Vehicle carriers are also included in the July schedule.

Neptune Ace is expected to arrive on July 16, while Morning Calm is scheduled to berth on July 26.

Majority of arrivals will be container vessels servicing regional and international trade routes. Scheduled containerships include Olomana, Victoria, Capitaine Wallis, Micronesian Ocean, Capitaine Tupaia, Capitaine Tasman, Southern Pearl, New Guinea Chief, Frida Russ, MSC Rini III, Kota Hapas, NPDL Tahiti, Medkon Ten, Carpenters Orion, Coral Islander II, Takutai Chief, Imua, MSC Davao III, Neptune Matua, Majuro Chief, Kota Harum, Liloa II and Tonga Chief.

The July schedule highlights the diverse range of vessels that regularly call at the Port of Suva, supporting cargo movement, fuel supply, scientific research and specialised maritime operations throughout the month.
