Navin Raj Shayam is the Ministry of Education’s Permanent Secretary.
Public Service Commission chairman Luke Rokovada said Mr Shayam has served as Principal and head of school of Jai Narayan College for 10 years.
“He has served in various capacities in teaching and learning, worked in private and public sectors and is a member of various boards and councils such as the Fiji National University Council. Fijian Holdings Trustees Ltd, Fijian Holdings Fund Management Ltd and Fiji Television Ltd,” he said.
Mr Shayam who has a degree in science from USP would take up his post in July.
