Advika Sharma, an Indian national studying at Wise Oaks International in Singapore shocked many participants at the Brighter Minds literacy and numeracy training in Lautoka yesterday.
The eight-year-old was able to de scribe Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers and identify words while being blindfolded at the Lautoka Central Primary School.
Her mother Karthikeyani Pataneni told this newspaper her daughter had learnt blindfold training in December 2023.
“And she has learnt from her teacher – Sudeepa at the Heartfulness Education Trust (HET),” she said.
“It was nine sessions and during this training she was able to identify colours and able to read.
“I can see a difference in her behaviour as she is more organised and able to focus more.
“We are Indian nationals stationed in Singapore for more than ten years, my husband and I are working there.
“This is our first trip to Fiji, as parents this is the actually the first time for us to witness this training, we know something our daughter has been learning from her trainers but not at this extent. And it’s really wonderful.”
