PERSEVERANCE is the mantra that has kept Fiji Airways men’s sevens player Suliano Volivoli going, while being a part of the training squad preparing for the start of the next leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Volivoli is no stranger to donning the national jersey, as he has represented the nation in various tournaments and even heeded the call to be captain of the side during the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

Speaking of the team’s preparations in the lead-up to the Dubai 7s, Volivoli admitted there were hurdles faced, however, he credited the team for overcoming them.

“In our training for the Dubai 7s, we have faced a lot of challenges along, the way such as our fitness but its all about continuing to persevere as we look forward to winning it,” Volivoli acknowledged.

Despite the obstacle, Volivoli continues to foster an unwavering resolve in stating the team will aim to win the series opener.

He also revealed the squad has been interacting well during their camping period, which has now entered its third week.

“The team has been progressing very well and preparation has been great, we’re just ensuring that we continue to bind properly and do our best in the tournament ahead,” he said.

Meanwhile, the training squad held a session at Bidesi Park in Laucala Bay, Suva yesterday as the clock ticks eagerly to the announcement of the national side that will play in the Dubai 7s from November 29- December 1.
