Vasemaca Senivutu, 18, of Adi Cakobau School, is set to lead her team in their inaugural appearance in the Pherrus Trophy Secondary Schoolgirls Competition which is set to begin this Saturday.
The young lass expressed her excitement, underlining that this marks their first year participating in the competition and conveying her eagerness for the coming event.
“It has been only three weeks we have been training, working with our coach and trying to learn the basics since for most of us this is our first time playing rugby league,” Senivutu said.
“We have been working together as a team and it has really helped us in our preparation, we are really looking forward for our first match.”
Senivutu said majority of the players were runners which had provided them with a strong foundation in fitness.
Their primary focus lies in honing their skills to ensure they are well prepared for the challenges that lie ahead on game day.
