Senior FRCS staff charged in 4kg meth smuggling case

Police have charged a senior official at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service for his alleged involvement in the unlawful importation of more than 4 kilograms of methamphetamine seized at the Nadi International Airport.

He will be the seventh person charged in related to the seizure of the drugs.

“The accused has been charged with one count of unlawful importation of illicit drugs and one count of Breach of Secrecy Oath under the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Act 1998,” said Fiji Police.

He had allegedly disclosed confidential information he received in the performance of his duties.

The accused will be produced at the Nadi Magistrates Court today.
