A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Malolo region last night.

The seismic activity was recorded 311km South-southwest from Malolo Island, 420km Northwest from Vunisea in Kadavu, and 441km West from Suva.

The Seismology Unit of the Mineral Resources Department said the moderate earthquake occurred at a shallow 10km depth, and it did not pose a tsunami threat to the region.
