Ka’iulani Scott says it will be a proud moment when she makes her senior debut for the Fiji Kulas at the OFC Women’s Nations Cup this Saturday in Suva.

The 17-year-old goalkeeper, who plays for Eastern Suburbs in New Zealand and has family roots in Lau, is looking forward to representing her mother’s home country.

“My mom is from Lau and that is where my Fijian connection comes in,” she said.

“I am super excited to play for the Fiji Kulas and hopefully make my senior women’s debut.”

Scott said the training environment with the Fijian players has been very positive.

“The atmosphere is so amazing, and everyone is so friendly and really supportive,” Scott said.

“I just want to make my family proud and do the best that I can,” she said.

The Kulas play the Solomon Islands tomorrow in their opening Group B match, Tonga on July 8 and Vanuatu on July 11.

All matches start at 7pm at the HFC Bank Stadium.
