THE Scotland Rugby team is anticipating a high tempo game as they prepare to face the FIJI Water Flying Fijians in their second Test match, scheduled to take place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

Having kicked off their opening Test match with a victory over the Maori All Blacks 29-26 in New Zealand last week, the Scottish side is aiming for their second win on Fijian soil.

Grant Gilchrist, the team’s second row player, highlighted the magnitude of the upcoming test, labeling it as one of the toughest challenges they could face.

He noted that the Flying Fijians put up a strong fight against Australia in their last match and are expected to be formidable opponents.

“It is a huge Test match probably its toughest challenge for us, the Flying Fijians should have won the match against Australia last weekend, but it was unfortunate, so we are looking forward to play against the team,” said Gilchrist.

He adds adjusting to the warmer climate in Fiji has been a gradual process for the Scottish team. Despite the unfamiliar weather conditions, they have had a week to acclimate and are slowly adapting to the new environment.

“The weather Its normally warmer from what we use to have in Scotland, we had a week here to prepare and the way the Sun comes in and out, we are slowly adjusting to it, so it’s a little bit different from home that for sure.”

Recognising the significance of playing on the Flying Fijians’ home ground, the Scotland team expects a demanding Test match but is eagerly looking forward to the challenge.

The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will host Scotland at 3pm today.
