Schools across Fiji will operate as normal tomorrow despite ongoing adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Education has confirmed.

Minister for Education said the decision was made following consultations with the and divisional authorities, which found no major flooding or significant disruptions affecting schools or surrounding communities.

The Ministry noted that while parts of the country continue to experience heavy rainfall, strong winds, rough seas and unusually cold temperatures, conditions remain stable overall.

Parents and guardians have been advised to use their discretion when deciding whether to send their children to school, particularly in areas where weather conditions or access routes may worsen overnight.

The Ministry also urged students not to cross flooded roads, creeks or rivers and encouraged those attending school to wear warm clothing and carry umbrellas.

School heads have been directed to remain in close contact with management committees and district education offices while continuing to monitor local conditions to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The Ministry says it will continue to work closely with the NDMO and relevant authorities and provide further updates should weather conditions change.
