The last round of the Nasinu Primary Schools Netball Association league competition was held yesterday after being postponed for the past two weeks due to unfavourable weather conditions.
President of the association, Asenaca Chambers said the players were happy to be back on the court.
“There has been a lot of improvement among the teams since their last round.
“This shows that the teams have been preparing well while the competition was on a halt,” she said.
“So far so good, we are happy with the performances of the players, especially those in the younger grade.
“We were unable to have the games for the past two weeks because of the rainy weather, and we are blessed to be able to have it today.”
The competition involves schools located in and around Nasinu, except for Kalabu Primary School. It features a total of nine schools in the competition and consists of teams from the under-9 to under-14 grades.
“We thank the Ministry of Education for allowing us to play today at the National Netball Centre here in Suva.”
She also thanked all the parents, supporters, and fans for turning up to the competition yesterday.
“We thank all of you that came here today, It’s important that we support and help develop these players when they are still very young.”
“It’s very nice to see a lot of parents coming out to support their children, it helps with their character development on the court.”
