VINAKA Fiji provided support for schools, families and communities across the Yasawa group as part of its ongoing community outreach program for the maritime region.
The charitable arm of South Sea Cruises Group, Vinaka Fiji collected stationery and essential items from international visitors for schools across the group.
Vinaka Fiji general manager Alalaini Naqoli said the organisation worked alongside communities and government to improve access to basic needs, facilities and practical support for maritime communities, where families and schools often face greater challenges than those in urban and semi-urban areas.
“Through the generosity of guests, Good Samaritans and South Sea Cruises Group, Vinaka Fiji continues to receive donations in kind, including school bags, boots, stationery, garments and other essential items,” she said.
“We have also distributed sanitation and personal care packs to single mothers in villages, as well as clothing and other useful items to students. Most recently, donations were handed over to Naviti District School and Yasawa High School, ensuring these contributions reached students who could benefit from them.
“The Vinaka Fiji team also coordinates the Good Samaritan Initiative, encouraging South Sea Cruises Group employees to donate useful surplus items from their homes.”
She said the initiative has now extended beyond the Yasawas to other landowning communities connected to the group.
“Vinaka Fiji is privileged to act as a steward of every donation received, ensuring contributions are respectfully and responsibly passed on to those who need them most.
“We pray God continues to bless every giver, while encouraging our recipients to value and practise good stewardship of every gift received.”
