Months of hard work and preparation paid off for students of Nasinu Muslim College (NMC) after students came first during the Fiji Secondary Schools Biology Battle yesterday.

The Fiji Secondary Schools biology and chemistry battle was organised by the Chemical Society of the South Pacific (CSSP) at the University of the South Pacific.

Jai Narayan College came second in the biology category while Nadi Sangam SKM College was placed third.

Labasa College took first place in the chemistry battle, Rishikul Sanatan College came in second and Savusavu Secondary School took third place.

“I am very proud of my team, we could not have achieved without them because they form an integral part of this achievement, so I’m very proud of them and I hope next year they will continue this legacy and make NMC’s name proud again,” said Nasinu Muslim College team captain and school head boy Mohammed Aamir Khan.

“I was here last year when I took part in the bio battle but last year, we did not win any trophies so from last year I said this year we are going to make it happen, so I was determined from the start.”
