IT seems some schools have made it a norm to make students stand for long hours in school assembly under the hot sun.
Primary school students from Year 1 to Year 8 are often seen standing in the hot sun along the Nadi-Lautoka corridor for hours during school assembly.
The school management needs to realise what students go through when they are standing for hours under the scorching heat.
I’m sure the headteachers and schoolteachers will surely have a hard time if they themselves are asked to stand for assembly under the hot sun.
It’s my humble request to all school managements to keep the school assembly brief and to conduct them under trees or in open partition classrooms.
The heat in the West is simply unbearable.
