THE Public Service Commission has appointed Dr Aalisha Sahukhan as permanent secretary for Health and Medical Services and Saimone Tauvoli as permanent secretary for Fisheries and Forestry.
In a statement, PSC said Dr Sahukhan brought extensive public health experience, including leadership during major outbreaks and the COVID-19 pandemic, and had represented Fiji in international health negotiations.
She previously led Health Protection, the Fiji Centre for Disease Control and Health Emergencies and Climate Change.
Mr Tauvoli, a public servant with more than 25 years’ experience, has served as acting permanent secretary for Fisheries and Forestry since November 2025.
His experience covers fisheries management, aquaculture, conservation, economic planning and community engagement.
