Explore the option of using Frank Lomani for kicking duties.

This is the call made by Former Flying Fijians winger Vilimoni Delasau following Fiji’ 26-32 loss to Wales in which, out of the four kickable penalties awarded, three were opted for line-out instead of the full three points.

In light of Teti Tela’s average game against the Dragons, in which he kicked wide of the posts at his first opportunity and failed to find the touch line on a number of occasions, Delasau believed half-back Frank Lomani would have been a better option.

“Lomani can kick too, why didn’t we used him?”

Lomani had also converted Waisea Nayacalevu’s and Lekima Tagitagivalu’s try before being replaced by Simione Kuruvoli in the 56th minute.

“I believe the boys are hurt and they want a win against the Wallabies more than they wanted against Wales.

“The clash against Australia will be a good one but we need to be smart and be positive in our approach.”

He added the team needed to execute the basics well.

“Catch the ball before you run and keep the ball as much as you can. Possession always works to our advantage and the players should capitalise on it,” said Delasau.

Fiji will play Australia on Monday at 3.45am at Stade Geoffroy Guichard, France.
