Key members of suspended parties are believed to be working round the clock to finalise copies of their annual financial statements and sources of funds to the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) before the deadline.

Suspended We Unite Fiji leader Ruveni Nadalo said their general secretary and treasurer were working on the financial report before it was presented to an auditor, following which it would be submitted to the FEO.

He said this would be done before the submission date ended.

According to suspended All People’s Party leader Pastor Tuiloma Tawaivuna, their reports were being finalised.

He said they were confident of meeting the deadline.

Meanwhile, the former leader of suspended New Generation Party, Varinava Tiko, referred all queries to president Wane Veiba.

She could not be reached for comments.

Questions were also sent to suspended FijiFirst general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

FEO had suspended the parties for failing to comply with Section 26 of the Political Parties Act 2013 for failing to submit audited copies of its finances (incomes, expenditures, assets and liabilities) along with its sources of funds after the end of the financial year.
