Poor defence, execution and handling errors haunted the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua as they sank to a ruthless Waratahs outfit in round two of Super W yesterday.

It looked like a shadow of a team that defeated the Reds in round one as the Drua were pushed to the curb with a 21-62 thrashing at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The visitors meant business from the get-go, scoring three quick unanswered tries in the first 17 minutes of the match to lead 19-0.

With a show of team work and precise offloads, the Drua responded in the 19th minute with winger Adita Milinia crashing over the tryline.

Hooker Vika Matarugu, who returned from injury, sneaked in their second from the base of the ruck five metres away from the Tahs tryline, narrowing the margin to 14-19.

The Waratahs put their forwards to work showing their dominance at the rolling maul and were in again eight minutes from half time with a try to Bridie O’Gorman.

They dismantled the Drua in the second spell who’s only hope came after a Merewai Cumu intercept but they silenced the crowd after running in five tries to claim the big win.

Drua W will deal with more than just the loss with winger Merewairita Neivosa and Mereoni Nakesa walking off the field with injuries.
