It’s upwards here on for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua women as they returned to winning ways last Saturday in round three of the Super W competition.

After their 19-5 win over the Western Force, hardworking flanker Sulita Waisega said they had to turn things around after a brutal awakening by the Waratahs a week before.

She acknowledged that the competition will only get tougher especially as they’re tied with the Force and Brumbies on the ladder with nine points from three games.

The Waratahs, who beat the Drua 62-21, lead the six-team competition with 15 points.

“The game against the Waratahs really humbled us because it’s not a good feeling to lose especially with that big of a scoreline at home ground. We stepped up during training and we got the outcome against the Force,” the Nakawaga, Mali in Macuata lass stated.

“We will reset and start from the bottom again. The job is not done yet, we must keep winning and we will work on that in the coming week.”

The 20-year-old has one of the best work rates in the team ever since her first season with the Drua W.

“My learning is to perform better in every game and that is what I’m trying to do in every opportunity I get so, that’s what I do.

“I thank my family and friends, the people who have been with me from the beginning, motivating me to work hard in every game. The position that I play I must show up in every game, so I make sure I fulfil my role,” she added.

The Fijiana 15s representative has been consistent so far and is expected to make the run-on team against the Brumbies this weekend in Canberra.

The match will be played at GIO Stadium at 6.05pm.
