THE Ratu Sukuna Memorial School (RSMS) under-18 team put on a thrilling and dominant display on Saturday, overpowering Church College of Fiji 25-7 at the Suva Grammar School grounds.

With impressive size and a slick, efficient backline, RSMS dismantled their opponents from the outset, showing clear signs of their potential in the Southern Zone Secondary Schools Deans Competition.

Coach Josaia Rokomarawa was pleased with the win but was quick to point out there is still plenty of work ahead.

“We will take the win and I’m thankful for the efforts the boys put in but we’ve still got a lot of work to do with our processes,” he said.

He explained that rushing through key moments cost them a lot of opportunities in the match.

“Number one; we were rushing things the boys were taking advantages of the strengths that we had rushing trying to complete our processes and get to the tryline without doing the processes properly.”

Rokomarawa highlighted the need to sharpen their set pieces before locking horns with the giants of their zone as competition continues.

Team captain Temolesi Bolatolu was full of praise for his teammates, applauding their unity and resilience on the field.

“I just want to thank the boys for the great performance today for standing up for each other on the field and the teamwork on the field,” he said.

Driven by their ambitious goal of finishing in the top three of their zone, the team’s determination has been evident throughout their preparations.

Bolatolu also expressed gratitude towards the old scholars and families supporting them, hoping their encouragement will continue to grow and inspire the team throughout the tournament.
